Info for Participants
In an effort to keep the parade ending on time there is no stopping to perform along the parade route. You must continue walking along the entire route, performing in motion. Please plan your routines with this in mind.
In addition, as participants pass the reviewing stand you must continue moving. Judges will evaluate your entry as you pass the reviewing stand. Also, we will be limiting the number of performing groups with similar music and routines.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Parade entry packets will be sent out to past participants by July 15th. If you would like to request a packet, please email Cathy Salgado.
The participant entry deadline is Friday, September 28, 2012 — no exceptions will be made. Space is limited to the first 90 approved applicants, which means that the Parade lineup may be filled before the September 28th deadline. So please don't delay in submitting your application; all applications submitted by the deadline are not guaranteed entrance.
To participate you must submit: a completed REGISTRATION form; a NARRATIVE (No changes and/or additions will be taken after Sunday, October 14, 2012) a WAIVER; and if you are entering a float, a FLOAT POLICY form with a detailed sketch and description. ALL entries are subject to the approval of the Parade Committee and must abide by the enclosed REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES. All of these forms are included in the entry packet below.
Once your application has been approved, you will receive a confirmation within two weeks. Your LINE-UP NUMBER and detailed participation information will be sent after October 10, 2012.
Send your completed packet by the September 28th deadline to "Vienna Parks & Recreation Department, 2012 Halloween Parade Entry, 120 Cherry Street SE, Vienna, VA 22180".
If you have questions that are not answered in the entry packet, please call the Vienna Parks and Recreation Department at 703-255-6360.

Please note:
It is against State Law to release balloons into the air. It is also against parade rules to hand out or throw candy, literature, balloons, etc.
All entries, even political groups, must follow the theme of the parade and be entertaining to the total audience, which includes children.
For safety reasons, walkers along side of floats are not permitted.
Review the complete rules in the entry packet.
Any violation of the laws and/or rules and regulations will result in a future parade ban and possible criminal charges.
